Course Description

Mobile Filmmaking is a hands-on course designed to introduce participants to the basics of creating effective short-form videos for social media and branding purposes. In today’s digital landscape, videos play a crucial role in helping brands and businesses connect with their audiences. This course guides participants through the process of creating a simple 15-second brand video, providing practical techniques for in-house video production without the need for extensive equipment or prior experience.

 

The course covers the entire video production process, from understanding the social media video landscape to hands-on exercises in pre-production, production, and post-production. Participants will learn to translate brand messages into compelling short-form content, apply basic filmmaking techniques, and edit their footage into polished branding videos.

 

Topics Covered:

  • The Social Media Video Landscape: An introduction to trends, formats, and content styles
  • The 3Ps of Video Production: A step-by-step approach to Pre-production, Production, and Post-production
  • Pre-production Exercise: Developing a script and storyboard for a 15-second branding video
  • Production Exercise: Filming short video clips using mobile devices while applying key filmmaking techniques
  • Post-production Exercise: Learning and applying basic editing techniques to create a finished video
  • Screening & Review: Sharing work and receiving feedback

  • Eligible employers may use the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) to offset the fees. 
  • Absentee Payroll (AP): Eligible employers will receive a fixed AP rate of $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
